On This Day 18th April

while today wasn't very busy, there were a few important things that heppened on this day like the first laundromat and the selling of London Bridge.

310- Catholic Pope, St Eusebius begins his reign

1518- Bona Sforza is crowned as the queen consort of Poland

1835- Lord Melbourne forms the British Government

1906- nearly 4,000 people are killed in an earthquake and fire in San Francisco, while 75% of the city is destroyed

1934- The First Laundromat opens in Texas. It is called the Washateria

1968- London Bridge is sold to an American Oil Company, and is to be erected in Arizona

1975- ‘Stand By Me’ is released by John Lennon
